SkillsFuture Funding
SkillsFuture aims to encourage individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning. For Singaporeans and PRs, our programs are eligible for up to a 70% grant (excluding GST).
For Individuals
SkillsFuture Credit
In addition to the grant support available, all Singaporeans aged 25 and above have received an opening SkillsFuture Credit of $500. SkillsFuture Credit can be used to pay for eligible programs in part or in full.
Opening Credit
From January 2016, Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of $500. The opening credit does not expire.
SkillsFuture Credit
Top-Up
All Singaporeans who are 25 years or above as of 31 Dec 2020, get a one-time credit top-up of $500. This credit top-up expires on 31 Dec 2025.
How to Claim Your SkillsFuture Credit?

Step 1
Complete Your Profile
If it’s the first time you are accessing your credit, complete your SkillsFuture profile.

Step 2
Check Your Credit Balance
To assess how much you can claim, check your available credit balance in your SkillsFuture Credit wallet.

Step 3
Inform ESSEC Professional Education of SkillsFuture Credit Use
If you have sufficient funds, inform ESSEC Professional Education that you intend to use your SkillsFuture Credit in part or in full for the qualifying program fee.

Step 4
Submit Your Claim
Submit your claim via MySkillsFuture within 60 days before the program start date (date inclusive).

For Companies
Up to 70% Funding
Companies can receive SkillsFuture funding of up to 70% of the program fees when they sponsor their employees to attend SSG supported programs.
Absentee Payroll (AP)
The AP rate is $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
What is Enhanced Training Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (ETSS)?
The Enhanced Training Support for SMEs (ETSS) offers additional support for SMEs in the form of higher course fee subsidies. SMEs enjoy SkillsFuture funding of up to 70% of the course fees when they sponsor their employees to attend SSG supported courses.
SMEs need to meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- Registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
SME-sponsored Trainees:
- Must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
- Courses have to be fully paid for by the employer.
- Trainee is not a full-time national serviceman.

Is my company eligible for AP Funding? Are all employees eligible for AP Funding?
In order to be eligible for AP Funding, the applicant company must meet the following criteria:
- Company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore;
- Trainees must be fully sponsored by their employer for supportable cost components (such as course fees) incurred on the training course;
- Trainees must:
- be full time or permanent part time employees of the sponsoring company;
- continue to receive their salary when they attend training;
- have sat for and passed the examinations/ assessments where applicable; and
- complete the course whilst under employment of the sponsoring company.
- Trainees must be paid overtime pay in accordance with the employer’s Human Resource (HR) policy (for training outside working hours);
- Non-business entities not registered with ACRA, such as VWOs and societies, as well as sole proprietorships, are also eligible if they meet all the above criteria.
